Yes, using frozen fruit instead of ice is the best way to getting a thick and creamy smoothie without the grainy ice shards that come with smoothies that use ice. And it’s the perfect time of year to stock up and freeze end-of-summer fruit!

Tip of the day 💡

I don’t recommend blending smoothies and then freezing them to drink later (the texture is just never good later). However, if you’d like to prep the ingredients ahead of time then package up single-serving smoothie ingredients in a small baggie or container and then store in the freezer and pull out when ready to blend (don’t store liquid ingredients like milk or vanilla, just add them in when you’re ready to make it).
