More than a quarter of the world’s population eat bugs as part of their standard diet; grasshoppers have high nutritional value compared to, say, beef—high in protein and essential amino acids, with no fat or cholesterol. But, alas, they are not a plant-based source of protein so you will not see any recipes from me with grasshoppers any time soon! (Though I have eaten them many years ago while in Mexico) (source)
