Should you cook or get takeout tonight? šŸ„”

The burning Friday night question we face week after week

To cook or to order in? That is the question.

It was a long week and now youā€™re faced with the eternal question: should you muster the strength to cook on Friday night, or should you just order in tonight?

First let me say this: there is nothing wrong with a takeout night, especially on a Friday (we have them from time to time). But if you find yourself getting takeaway more often than not, itā€™s time to realize what the issue really isā€¦you didnā€™t have a plan for dinner, so youā€™re forced to make last minute decisions.

Creating a meal plan each week and actually prepping those meals ahead takes away the decision fatigue of figuring out dinner. And guess what ā€” planning to make your takeaway favorites at home is possible!

So today Iā€™m sharing a few plant-based twists on takeout favorites to curb your cravingsā€¦and spare your wallet from always ordering in.

FIND YOURSELF OPTING FOR TAKEOUT TOO OFTEN?

I hear you, itā€™s hard to kickstart the habit of planning and prepping your meals each week. I know I can share thousands of recipes with you that look interesting, but until you actually decide to plan those meals and get the ingredientsā€¦youā€™ll never actually make them.

Thatā€™s why Iā€™m creating my upcoming program with the intention of helping plan and prep more plant-based meals, in less time ā€“ week after week. If you know youā€™re ready to finally get your kitchen in order, and eat more plant-centered meals while youā€™re doing it, make sure to get on the list so youā€™re the first to know when itā€™s ready.

DID YOU KNOW? šŸ§

Research suggests that cooking any meal ā€“ whether or not the recipe is designed to be healthy ā€“ is better for your health than eating out. It's true: The health benefits of a home-cooked meal outweigh almost any other method of eating, no matter the recipe. Hereā€™s why: you control the ingredients you cook with, you can better manage portion control, youā€™ll eat more variety, and cooking boosts your sense of purpose and pleasure. (source)

Instead of going out to dinner, buy good food. Cooking at home shows such affection. In a bad economy, it's more important to make yourself feel good.
