Plum-tastic way to start the day

These refreshing plant-based plum breakfast recipes are perfect for busy mornings.

Your mornings could use a little color…purple color, that is.

I woke up this week craving plums. It’s the height of summer, which means that plums – and other stone fruit – are at their peak.

Nothing says summer more than standing over a sink and sinking your teeth into a juicy purple plum, with the juice dribbling down your fingers.

That’s why today I’m rounding up a few of my favorite plum breakfast recipes (and one peach dish, for good measure). I hope this inspires you to put a bit of stone fruit into your meals this coming week.

Plums, belonging to the Prunus genus and relatives of the rose family, offer a variety of colors and flavors, with China as the leading producer. Rich in nutrients, they can be enjoyed fresh or as prunes, dried for digestive health, or even juiced for a dark purple hit of antioxidants.
