Peppers 🫑

Pepper season begins this month for many growing regions, with a peak around August and September.

PEPPER RECIPE #1 (it’s quick pickling season!)

Chickpeas 💛

You're likely used to buying chickpeas canned or dried, but did you know you can also find them fresh when they're in season? They have a small harvesting window in mid- to late spring, so this month is the perfect time to see if there are fresh chickpeas available near you!

Fresh herbs (basil, oregano, parsley) 🌿

Many spring and summer recipes feature bright and fresh herbs, which come into season in some growing regions in May.

HERB RECIPE #2 (this herby sauce is 🤌)

Blackberries 💜

Blackberry season in the United States typically runs from May through September, depending on your location.

Raspberries ❤️

Raspberry season typically runs from May to November.

DID YOU KNOW? 🧐

May’s full Moon, called the Flower Moon, appears on Thursday, May 23, reaching peak illumination at 9:53 A.M. (EDT). It will be below the horizon at this time, so for the best view of this full Moon, step outside on the night of the 23rd or the 24th and look for that big, bright, shining lunar disk! (source)
